Safety on the water
Getting on the water should be easy and safe. Here’s what we provide and what’s required in BC.
Transport Canada notice. Transport Canada requires every paddler to carry an approved personal flotation device (PFD) or lifejacket and a sound-signalling device (whistle) on board. a2Sea includes a fitted lifejacket and whistle with every rental. Please wear your PFD on the water.
What comes with every rental
- A fitted, Transport Canada–approved personal flotation device (PFD)
- A sound-signalling device (whistle)
- A quick safety rundown at delivery
Age policy
Renters must be 19 or older (the age of majority in BC). Minors can participate with a consenting parent or guardian, who completes the waiver on their behalf.
Please paddle responsibly
Wear your PFD at all times on the water, check conditions before you head out, and stay within your comfort zone. If in doubt, keep close to shore.
